This group is very friendly and informal.  We do not do much writing during our meetings but we do bring in work we have done at home and share that. 

  We have a lot of fun, exchanging ideas, news and inspiration – interspersed with plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits (and the occasional bottle of wine!) We sturdily resist all attempts to be taken seriously – and (with some justification, see right!) - have been accused of being irreverent, irrelevant and trivial!  

We produce magazines of our members work as least once a year. We also organise visiting writers and outings, and share resources with other arts, educational and writers groups whenever possible.

We particularly support and encourage anyone who lacks confidence, people who have never written before and those with learning difficulties and other disabilities. 

We are always happy to welcome new members and  visitors.  No appointment necessary - just call in to the children’s library during one of our meetings.

Cost: We have a voluntary contribution pot and suggest a donation of £1 per session to cover the cost of refreshments and administration.  The group is unfunded and run on an entirely voluntary basis by the members themselves.
